Naperville Seeking Applicants for 2025 Grant Opportunities

Grants for Community Development, Arts, Social Services and Opioid Remediation Efforts

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The City of Naperville is accepting applications for four grant programs to fund 2025 projects. The City will award federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money and city-funded grants for Special Events & Community Arts (SECA), Social Services Grants (SSG) and Opioid Remediation.

The federal CDBG supports funding housing, community development and infrastructure projects. Naperville’s SECA grant supports cultural and artistic initiatives. SSG aids organizations providing essential social services to residents and Opioid Remediation grants support efforts to combat the opioid crisis.

“There’s more than $2.175 million of funding available through City of Naperville grant programs,” said Community Grants Coordinator Miranda Barfuss. “There’s no need for people to register to attend the workshops, and we strongly encourage people to learn more about grant opportunities at the workshops. This is a fantastic opportunity for organizations to help address community needs and make a positive impact in Naperville.”

City staff members will provide information about the grant programs at the workshops, including eligibility, funding criteria, the application process, submission requirements and more. Applicants for SECA funding must have a representative attend one of two mandatory workshops at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St:

•    10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, in Council Chambers
•    6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, in Meeting Rooms A&B

SECA applications open on Friday, Sept. 6, and are due by noon on Friday, Oct. 4.

An optional pre-application workshop for CDBG, SSG and Opioid Remediation grants will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, in Council Chambers. All three grant applications open on Thursday, Sept. 12. Applications for SSG and Opioid Remediation are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, and CDBG applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25.
