1. Photovoltaic (Solar) Permit and Utility Connection Standards

Permitting, Plans and Licensing Portal Now Available

Residential customers are now able to apply for this permit through the City’s new Permitting, Plans and Licensing Portal. The new portal gathers all of the information needed to apply, pay for, and manage permits in one convenient place. It is designed for use on a desktop/laptop computer. Non-residential customers should continue to follow the electronic submittal process outlined on the Building Permits page.

Before installing solar panels, a solar (photovoltaic) permit must be obtained through the Transportation, Engineering & Development Business Group. Solar installers should be aware of the City's net metering standards. Fill out an application for a solar incentive.

Residential

To apply for a residential solar (photovoltaic) permit, please visit the City of Naperville Permitting, Plans and Licensing Portal. The Permitting, Plans and Licensing Portal gathers all of the information needed to apply, pay for, and manage permits in one convenient place. It is designed for use on a desktop/laptop computer.

Non-residential
