Smart Thermostat Rebate Program

Today it pays for your home to get smart with Naperville's new smart thermostat rebate program!

The Electric Utility is offering a one-time $50 rebate to residential utility customers (both homeowners and renters) when they buy and install a smart thermostat, beginning with units purchased on or after May 1, 2018.

Who's Eligible?

Rebate applicants must be residential customers and the owners or renters of their residence. There is a limit of one rebate per household.

What Do I Need to Do?

  1. Purchase and install any brand of smart thermostat. All makes and models are included in the rebate.
  2. Fill out the rebate application.
  3. Send your rebate application and documentation to

Once an application has been verified and the rebate application fully processed, customers will receive a one-time $50 credit on their utility bill within two months. Rebates will be offered until all funding is allocated.

What's a Smart Thermostat?

Smart thermostats help you save energy - a move that's good for your wallet and good for the planet.They automatically and remotely control heating and cooling within a home, versus a resident manually having to adjust their temperature. Smart thermostats can even learn residents’ temperature preferences and schedules and automatically adjust heating or cooling to those preferred levels. Several brands of smart thermostats are available for purchase at a variety of retail locations or online; all makes and models will be eligible under this rebate program.
