Planning and Zoning Commission Speaker Sign-Up

July 15 Meeting

Online speaker sign-up for the July 15 meeting is currently open and will close at 5 p.m. on July 15, at which time no other speakers or comments will be accepted.

Any individual who would prefer to listen to the meeting by telephone or who may require accommodation to listen or participate in the meeting should contact the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m. on July 15 by calling (630) 305-5300.

You do not need to download any software or create a Zoom account to participate or listen to the meeting.

The July 15 Planning and Zoning Commission meeting will be held virtually using Zoom webinar technology.

PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to create a Zoom account or download software to participate or listen to a Zoom meeting. Registered speakers and participants will receive instructions on how to access the meeting and may use the “join from your browser” link to access the meeting.

How to Participate

Members of the public will still have the opportunity to address the Planning and Zoning Commission during the virtual meeting in the following ways:

  1. Submit a comment to be read into public record by a member of staff.
  2. Submit a one-word statement of support or opposition of a specific topic or agenda item to be read into public record by a member of staff.
  3. Sign up to provide live public comment, testimony or cross-examination of witnesses during the meeting.

Comments and positions submitted online will be read into the public record and become part of the meeting minutes.

Individuals who sign up to speak during the live meeting by 5 p.m. on July 15 will receive an email from the City Clerk’s office after the sign-up time ends with information about how to join the meeting. Questions regarding online sign-up may be directed to the City Clerk’s office by calling (630) 305-5300.

Written comments may be emailed to Written comments received by 5 p.m. on July 8 will be included in the meeting packet sent to the PZC. Written comments received after 5 p.m. on July 8 through 5 p.m. on July 14 will be emailed directly to the PZC, but not included in the PZC packet or posted online. Written comments received after 5 p.m. on July 14 will be added to the case file.

Citizen Participation Guidelines

The citizen participation guidelines are outline in 1-5-6-6: - CITIZEN PARTICIPATION of the Naperville Municipal Code.

All viewpoints and opinions are welcome, positive comments and constructive criticism are encouraged. Speakers must refrain from harassing or directing threats or personal attacks at Commission members, staff, other speakers or members of the public. Comments made to intentionally disrupt the meeting may be managed as necessary to maintain appropriate decorum and allow for city business to be accomplished. 

If you signed up to speak, staff will call your name at the appropriate time during the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Once your name is called you may identify yourself for the public record and then address remarks to the Planning and Zoning Commission as a whole. Speak clearly and try to limit remarks directly to the matter under discussion. Speakers are called in the order they sign up.
